首先謝謝大家!今天是為了計劃在尼泊爾揚列雪聖地,建造蓮師大佛而召開此成立大會,為了殊勝的緣起,我們先一齊來唸誦蓮師七句祈請文、蓮師心咒等。
First of all I would like to thank you all. Today we gathered here for the founding ceremony of building the big Guru Rinpoche statute at the sacred place Yangliexue in Nepal. For the extraordinary circumstances we have, let’s first together recite the seven line prayers of Guru Rinpoche and heart mantra of Vajra Guru Mantra.

許多人都認為蓮師七句祈請文是始自蓮花生大士,其實不然,而是在無數劫以前由三世一切諸佛菩薩共同開始唸誦這蓮師七句祈請文,如此唸誦後,三世諸佛菩薩就一齊化現成蓮花生大士。諸佛菩薩為甚麼要化現為蓮花生大士?因為這些諸佛菩薩通常是以法身、報身、化身來利益眾生,在明燈劫(有佛住世教化眾生之際)期間於無數淨土中會有無數的佛以化身降臨,當諸佛菩薩示現化身時所傳的法是以經、律、論為主,並未公開傳授密法,若要傳授密法時,則不以化身的形象而是一定要示現報身來傳授密法,像釋迦牟尼佛當初傳授時輪金剛時不示現化身像,而是現出時輪金剛向特殊的弟子來傳授密法,此即示現報身。同樣的,所有諸佛菩薩都必須現報身佛才向不共的弟子傳授密法。
Many people think that seven line prayers are from Guru Rinpoche. Not really so. Before the countless kalpas, all three times Buddhas and Bodhisattvas recited Guru Rinpoche seven ling prayers. After the recitation, all three times Buddhas and Bodhisattvas emanated as Guru Rinpoche. Why would the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas emanate as Guru Rinpoche? All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas benefit people in Dharmakaya, Samboghakaya and Nirmanakaya. In the Bright Light Kalpa when Buddhas come to world and teach Dharma, countless of Buddhas come to countless of pure lands in the form of Nirmanakaya. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifest in Nirmanakaya to teach Sutra, Vinaya and Abhidharma. They did not openly teach the secret Tantra. If they want to teach secret Tantra, they will not manifest as Nirmanakaya, instead they will manifest as Samboghakaya to teach the secret Tantra. When Buddha Shyakyamuni first taught Kalachakra, he did not appear in Nirmanakaya. Rather he manifested as the Samboghakaya Kalachakra and taught to a group of special students. All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifest as Samboghakaya to teach secret Tantra to the extraordinary students.

一般來說,「顯」「密」目標是一致的(同是究竟佛果),實際上當我們要證得佛果時,顯、密在時間上則有很大的差別。用顯教的道路來修持,要證得佛果需三大阿僧祇劫,費時長遠,這是眾所周知的。然而密教尤其特別的是,諸佛菩薩為了弘揚密法化現成蓮花生大士,正如蓮師除障文中開示所云:「三世諸佛總集蓮花生大士」。意指從諸佛自始化現蓮師至今是不生不滅的,未來也是如此,所有輪迴未空前,蓮師都會住世,不會涅槃。而蓮師的化身也會在每一尊佛的淨土中化現無數,目前釋迦牟尼佛教化的期間,具有上千萬個淨土,蓮師也是化身上千萬來利益無邊的眾生。
Generally speaking, the ultimate goal of achieving Buddhahood for Sutrayana and Tantrayana is the same. In fact, when we want to achieve Buddhahood, the time difference for Sutrayana and Tantrayana is also big. Most of the people know that to practice Sutrayana to attain Buddhahood, you need to take a very long time which is three asamkhya kalpas to accomplish. The secret Tantrayana is special because Buddhas and Bodhisattvas emanated as Guru Rinpoche to teach secret Tantra. Just as the Prayer to Guru Rinpoche to Remove Obstacles described: “ The gathering of all Buddhas in three times” It means that Guru Rinpoche was emanated from Buddhas in the beginning. So, he was unborn, unceasing now and in the future. Until the samsara is emptied, Guru Rinpoche will remain in the world and will not go into Nirvana. And the emanations of Guru Rinpoche will also appear in the pure lands of each Buddha. At the time when Buddha Shyakyamuni gave teachings, it was said that there will be tens of millions of pure lands. And Guru Rinpoche will also have countless emanations in those pure lands to benefit innumerable sentient beings.

一般對蓮師的傳記沒有實際了解的人會說:蓮師從印度誕生到西藏再往生羅剎國去利益眾生了。然而事實是,每一尊佛出現時,蓮師即有一尊化現,依眾生的福緣來傳授密法,依不同根器而利益眾生。蓮師以不同的尊號在每一尊佛的淨土中化現,如釋迦牟尼佛時有蓮師三身、蓮師八變和其他四十種尊號等等,就如太陽與陽光的關係一般,所以有這麼多的化身。但是蓮師的身全部都是淨光之身,並非血肉之軀,比如說,昔時伏藏師邱駒林巴巖取出蓮師的頭髮和一般人的頭髮不一樣,整個頭髮全都是彩虹光。可想而知,蓮師的肉、血、頭髮等是以非世俗物質顯現的方式示現,因此只有蓮師的法衣才留存下來。
Those who do not have real understanding of the biography of Guru Rinpoche will often say that Guru Rinpoche was born in India, went to Tibet and went to nirvana in Russia Kingdom to benefit beings. But in fact, in every Buddha appeared, there is an emanation of Guru Rinpoche to teach secret Tantra according to the different capacity and karma of all sentient beings. Guru Rinpoche appears in all Buddhas’ pure lands. In the time of Buddha Shyakyamuni, there are three kayas, eight manifestations and more than 40 kinds of noble names for Guru Rinpoche. Just like the sun and the sun rays, Guru Rinpoche have many emanations. But all the body of Guru Rinpoche are pure light body, not flesh and bone body. For example, in the old time, the hair of Guru Rinpoche took out by the Treasure Revealer Choji Lingpa was different from ordinary people’s hair. Guru Rinpoche’s hairs were all rainbow light. So we know the blood, flesh, bone were not displayed in an ordinary way. Therefore, only the Dharma gown of Guru Rinpoche can be kept.

以密咒乘來說,入聖法門有九乘次第,每一聖門都有各別的修行教法,修持「行續、事續、瑜珈續」這三個聖門則分別能在十六生、七生、三生證得佛果。而一切乘最頂尖的是「無上密的大圓滿法」,如法實修這個法門,能夠在今生以三年三個月、或六年、或十二年或一輩子中即可成佛。目前所知,在印度和西藏如此實修大圓滿教法而證得虹光身者已有數十萬人;大成就者獅利星哈亦曾至漢地傳授大圓滿教法,由此證得虹光身的弟子也有幾十萬人,此乃於佛法尚未傳入西藏前,大圓滿教法在漢地就已經很興盛的實證。此外,還應歸功於大圓滿教法實修者的用心,使得漢地內早就有很多關於大圓滿的詞彙,只是大家沒有努力去研究這些古文而僅汲汲營營於現代產物,所以不了解實際上早就有這些大圓滿的文字。反觀國外,如美國等根本沒有這些大圓滿的詞彙,於是傳法時要重新創造出來,導致在西方弘法有很大的困難,但是對漢地來說,只要有心去閱讀、去研究的話都有辦法,因為這些過去在漢地都宏揚過了。
There are nine yanas for secret Tantrayana. Each yana has its own practice. To practice Kriyatantra (action Tantra), Charyatantra (performance Tantra) and Yogatantra these three supreme yanas, you can achieve Buddhahood in sixteen lives, seven lives and three lives time. And the ultimate among all yanas is the secret supreme great perfection. If you can really practice it, you can attain Buddhahood in three years and three months, or six years, or 12 years or in one life time. To my knowledge, there are over tens of thousands of people attained rainbow body because of practicing great perfection. The great Sidhas ShriSimha taught great perfection in mainland China. Over tens of thousands of his disciples attained rainbow body. These are very real example to show that the great perfection teachings were widely taught in mainland China. And it was the time before Buddhism was introduced in Tibet. Of course, it is also due to the efforts of the genuine great perfection practitioners that there were many terms for great perfection in mainland China already. We do not understand that in fact there were words for great perfection already, yet we were busy in researching the modern things and not paying attention to the ancient cultures. If we look at other countries, such as United States, there were no words for great perfection. Therefore you need to create words to teach in the beginning which makes it difficult to teach great perfection in the west. Whereas in the east, as long as you are willing to read and study, you will not have any problem. Because all these were taught before.

剛剛我們唸誦的蓮師七句祈請文,已經了解不是蓮花生大士開示的,而是三世諸佛菩薩所示,但蓮師心咒則由蓮花生大士親自開示,所以我們祈請蓮師與祈請三世諸佛菩薩是一樣的、同得三世諸佛菩薩的加持。由於一切本尊的壇城及空行母的壇城都在淨土中,因加持力之故,自然與蓮師是完全無二的示現。同時蓮師也是阿彌陀佛的化身,所以上師、本尊、空行一切都在蓮師的身、口、意中普遍地安住,在印度如此、在西藏也如此,許多的大成就者於親見蓮師後便增長證悟,廣遍利益眾生而宏揚教法;在寧瑪、嘎舉或薩迦有很多大成就者都能得到這些覺受來利益眾生,我們在閱讀各派大成就者的傳記中也都可以了解,不是我們捏造出來的。
Just now we recite Seven Line Prayers of Guru Rinpoche. We understand that the prayer was not a teaching from Guru Rinpoche but was taught by all three times Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The heart mantra for Guru Rinpoche is taught by Guru Rinpoche himself. So when we pray to Guru Rinpoche, it is the same as we pray to the three times Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. And we get the same blessings from the three times Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Because the mandalas of Yidam and Khandro are in the pure land, their blessings are naturally one with Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche is also the emanation of Buddha Amitabha. So the Lama, Yidam and Khandro remain calmly abiding in the body, speech and mind of Guru Rinpoche. It is so in India and so in Tibet. Many great Sidhas, after they witness Guru Rinpoche, increased their enlightenment level.

一般在印度並沒有分薩迦派、嘎舉派、、、,只講顯與密的差別而已。就西藏來說,依宏揚時期的前後才變成四大教派,依此之故,世俗人就對各派之間的差異產生許多批評和紛爭,實際上這些都是沒有意義的,就佛法本身本無差別,唯因各人心緒及妄念的緣故才製造分歧。那麼為何稱之為寧瑪?是「舊譯」才稱為寧瑪!如今不同的教派用不同的顏色來區分,這些都是政治因素所致,基本上主要是依舊譯與新譯來區分,即八百年以前上溯到一千兩百年即是「舊譯」;而八百年以後傳的教法是「新譯」。
Generally speaking, in India there is no so called Sakya or Geluk tradition, only difference in Sutrayana and Tantrayana. In Tibet, these four lineages were categorized according to the years of Buddha Dharma taught in Tibet. The worldly people then create many criticisms and judgments according to the differences of these lineages. In fact, these arguments are of no sense. Buddha Dharma itself has no separation, but was differentiated because of people’s emotions and delusions. So, why called Nyingma? It is the old translation, so it was called Nyingma. Nowadays some people also use colors to distinguish different lineages. It’s all due to politics. Basically, we can categorize them into old translation and new translation. The old translation lineages ranged from one thousand two hundred years ago till eight hundred years ago. And the new Dharma taught after eight hundred years ago is called new translation lineage.

寧瑪在舊譯時期(印度的佛法未受到任何破壞時)非常興盛,當時蓮師、藏王、堪布(師君三尊)等教導兒童時發現,西藏的孩子由於不懂梵文而在學習上產生很大的困難,因此藏王相當難過!國王請示蓮師,蓮師說:「問題不在於語言,而是應當依過去的願力將出生在西藏的小孩尋找出來!」遂由蓮師來指示並認證某些具願力的孩童才加以教導佛法,並且賜予灌頂「不忘失陀羅尼」的成就,加強學習的成果;另則為了讓這些孩子們到非常遙遠的印度留學之方便,蓮師再賜予「神足通」的加持,使大家皆具有神足通的成就,印藏來回只要七天而已,所以這些孩子們(未來的大譯師)到印度學習佛法時精通梵文、藏文及千百種語言,皆因蓮師和大堪布加持的緣故,同時他們也得到很多神通。之後這些大譯師們如毘盧遮那等不但將當初釋迦牟尼佛開示的佛法全部翻譯成藏文,並且親自學習修行。例如,很多密咒乘寶篋持有者的大持明成就者,都住在屍陀林等一般人到達不了的聖地中,但是這些大譯師們便依自己的神通法力進到了這些寶篋大持明者所住的地方親近求法等等。
Nyingma was very booming in old translation period (at the time when the Buddha Dharma in India was not destructed). At that time, there was language difficulty when Guru Rinpoche, king of Tibet and Khenpo (the three venerables including teachers and king) taught the children Buddha Dharma. These children can not understand Sanskrit. So the king of Tibet was very sad. The king asked Guru Rinpoche for help. Guru Rinpoche said:” the problem is not the language. Rather we should search those who were born in Tibet because of past lives’ aspirations.” Therefore, Guru Rinpoche started to find those children born by aspirations and taught them Buddha Dharma. He also empowered them the accomplishment of “dharani of never forgetting “ to increase the learning effects. In addition, Guru Rinpoche empowered these children magic feet so that they can have magic feet to travel between India and Tibet in just seven days. These children (the future great translators) went to India to study Buddha Dharma and were able to understand Sanskrit, Tibetan and hundreds of languages. All these magic powers and abilities were due to the blessings of Guru Rinpoche and big Khenpo. Later on, these great translators such as Vairocana translated all the teachings taught by Buddha Shyakyamuni into Tibetan and really study and practice them. For examples, many great Vidyadhara Sidhas are holders of Mantrayana Jewel Box lived in the places difficult to reach such as skeletal woods. But these using their magic powers, great translators can visit these great Vidyadhara Jewel Box holders in the skeletal woods.

釋迦牟尼佛涅槃後,蓮師形式上誕生在印度並住了兩千多年左右,調伏了很多國王並導入佛門,比如說:在印度菩提嘎雅有一佛寺叫「彌達瑪西拉」,無數的僧眾居於此寺中,當時有外道與內道經常爭吵和辯論的現象,有一次外道五百導師來到此寺,他們皆具有學問與神通,法力非常強大,他們要求以神變和辯論來互相較量,誰輸了就得皈依勝利者。「彌達瑪西拉」寺中的班智達(阿者黎)討論所得是,若辯論的話不怕會輸;但是比神通和法力的話恐怕會敗給外道,所以非常著急!因此班智達們為了無法降伏外道而感到非常心虛和難過,正當此時降臨了一位空行母,空行母告訴他們說:你們無法對付外道的,如果邀請我哥哥的話就有辦法了。班智達們問空行母說:您的哥哥住哪裡?空行母回答說:哥哥住在自燃火焰山的屍陀林。班智達說:我們無法到達那個地方。空行母說:沒有關係,您們只要好好準備寶座和供品等。同時空行母還教他們唸誦蓮師七句祈請文,值此之際,寺院外面全部已被外道包圍,外人無法入寺,寺內之人也無法出去。當班智達們備妥寶座和供品後,就虔誠地唸誦蓮師七句祈請文來祈請蓮師、、、,蓮師竟從空中而降並問他們說:為何呼喚我?班智達們告知蓮師說:此地已經產生很大的爭辯了,我們該如何應付?蓮師指示說:你們不用擔心,一切都由我來迴遮!於是,佛寺中的四個大門皆有蓮師化現的四位大班智達與外道辯論,而後,佛道勝利,外道輸了!接下來,外道們展現各種神通,在空中飛來飛去並且施展他們強大的法力,此刻,蓮師持期克印指著他們同時口唸吽、吽、吽、、、,這些外道竟然都因法力不足摔落在地,吐血而亡,於是其他的外道弟子全都皈依佛門。After Buddha Shyakyamuni went into Nirvana, Guru Rinpoche in his form was born and lived in India for over two thousand years. Guru Rinpoche subjugated many kings and led them enter into the door of Buddhism. For example, in Bodhigaya of India, there is a temple called Midamasyla lived numerous monks and sangha people lived in this temple. At the time, there were many arguments and disputes among people on wrong paths and right paths. Once, there were five hundred teachers with great power from wrong paths came to this temple. They were all very learned and with magic powers. They asked to compete by magic powers and debate. Whoever lost should take refuge to the winners. After the Pantitas in the temples had a group discussion, they felt that if they debate they will not lose. But if they compete in magic powers, they may lose to the wrong paths. So they were really worried. The Pantitas felt very sad and lacking of confidence for not being able to subjugate the wrong paths. Right at this time, one Dakini came to tell them that you can not defeat the wrong path people, unless you invite my brother. The Pantitas asked the Dakini:” Where did your brother live?” The Dakini answered:” My brother lived at the skeletal woods in the self-burning fire mountain. The Pantitas said:” We can not get there.” The Dakini said:” It’s all right. All you need is to prepare offerings and the throne. The Dakini also taught them Seven Line Prayer to pray to Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche really came from the sky and asked them:” Why are you calling me?” The Pantitas told Guru Rinpoche:” We have great dispute here. How should we handle?” Guru Rinpoche said to them:” No need to worry. Let me handle every thing.” Then, there came four Pantitas at the four doors of the temple to debate with the wrong path people. The wrong path people failed the debate. Then, the wrong paths showed up all kinds of magic powers, flying in the sky and demonstrated their great power. At the same time, Guru Rinpoche was holding subjugating mudra to them and reciting Hung, Hung, Hung…… These wrong paths fell to the ground because of lacking power and died in vomiting blood. Other disciples from the wrong path all take refuge to the Buddhism.

在印度,每當佛法面臨嚴重危機時,蓮師皆以各種不同的示現來復興佛法,如此蓮師在印度住了兩千多年。西藏也是,藏王以各種方法來建寺宏揚佛法,卻經常都會遇到阻礙,宏願無法實現。西藏的天龍八部、神鬼的力量非常強大,沒有那麼容易調伏,因而藏王迎請蓮花生大士來降伏天龍八部、鬼神等、並且讓他們立下誓言,成為佛教的護法!其他很多苯教徒受到蓮師的加持也都轉向佛法,蓮師將佛法如日中天般地在西藏宏揚開來,而當初藏王邀請蓮師到西藏時,蓮師正住在尼泊爾的揚列雪聖地,蓮師是從揚列雪抵達西藏的。In India, whenever Dharma encountered great crisis, Guru Rinpoche will have different emanations to revive Buddha Dharma. It is why Guru Rinpoche lived in India for over two thousand years. In Tibet, the king of Tibet used many ways to build and teach Buddha Dharma, but often he encountered obstacles. So the king’s great wish can not come true. The power of dragons, demons and local deties in Tibet is very powerful and difficult to subjugate. Therefore, the king of Tibet invited Guru Rinpoche to subjugate these forces and made them vow to protect the Buddhism. Other Bon religions also turned to Buddhism after receiving the blessings of Guru Rinpoche. Buddha Dharma spread by Guru Rinpoche in Tibet like the sun shining in the day light. When the king of Tibet invited Guru Rinpoche to come to Tibet, Guru Rinpoche lived at the Yanglieshu sacred place in Nepal. Guru Rinpoche came to Tibet form Yanglieshu.

這次主要是梭多(梭南多滇)和鄔金二位及所有與會人士發此宏願,想要建造蓮師大佛,有這樣的思惟是非常好的,在非常殊勝特別的聖地若能夠建造這樣的大佛,對教法及眾生有非常廣大的利益。再者,大家能夠入會來協助是具有非常廣大福報的,我(法王)也表示感謝之意!雖然我沒有什麼力量,但對這個事業仍會儘可能地來協助。
This time Songduo (Sonam Doudian), Orgyen and all the people joining this ceremony made a big wish to build a big Guru Rinpoche statute. It is very good to have this thought. If we can build such big Buddha Statute in this extraordinarily sacred place, it will generate great benefit for the Dharma and all sentient beings. If you can join this organization to help, you will have great merits and receive great rewards. I (Penor Rinpoche) want to express my appreciation. Although I have no power, I will try my best to assist.

今天成立了這個會,往後大家應當具有信心、恭敬心和慈悲心來共同護持,無論做任何事情在開始時即要很虔誠地來祈請蓮師,我們能夠這樣努力的話,不但自己得以幸福快樂,同時也可讓所有眾生獲得很多的功德利益。
Today we have established this organization. In the future, I wish all can have faith, devotion and compassion to hold this organization together. No matter what we do, in the beginning, we should pray to Guru Rinpoche in devotion. If we can make effort, not only we ourselves can live happily but can also accumulate many merits and benefits to all sentient beings

基本上護法會的成員都很好,但是,做事的過程不要有各自為政的現象發生,應互相幫助、彼此配合,希望大家能夠以虔誠心、恭敬心、慈悲心來行事,如果用這樣的想法來做事的話就會得到很大的力量。我在建造南印度南卓林寺時,也未存任何世俗的願望,所以建造過程非常地順利圓滿。雖然建造過程中有幾位印度工人和喇嘛從三、四樓掉下來,但是其中一位住院幾天就沒事了,其他人也都沒有甚麼問題。主要還是不以世俗的願望而只以虔誠心、恭敬心來做事情的話就會圓滿順利,如今來到南卓林寺參觀的任何人都會感受到非常大的歡喜及平靜。當地的印度人每天也會帶幾百人來參觀佛寺,此外亦有很多回教徒來參觀,有沒有信心不曉得,但看起來都蠻歡喜的。只要開始時沒有世俗的妄念,以正確的動機來做,事情就會非常圓滿順利。目前整個印度地區建造如此盛大、豐富、圓滿的佛寺可以說是前所未有,個人(法王)對這樣的佛寺卻從無任何世俗的貪執,舉凡權力、名利等等的念頭都不曾生起過。
Basically the members of this organization are all very good. But, you should not have individualism when you do any thing. We should help and coordinate with each other. If we can all work with devotion, sincerity and compassion, then we will gain very big power. When I was building Namdroling Monastery in South India, I never had any worldly wish. Therefore, the whole construction process is very smooth and perfectly completed. Though there are several India workers and lamas fell down from third and fourth floors. But one of them went out healthily after few days’ staying in hospital. Others were also fine bow. The main thing is not to make worldly wish but to generate devotion, then everything will complete perfectly. Today those who came to Namdroling Monastery can feel very great joy and peace. Local Indians also came to visit the temple in hundreds. Also there are some Moslems visited the temple. We do not know if they have faith or not. But they seemed to like it. As long s we do not have worldly delusion, and work with right motivation, all things will complete perfectly. There has never been such a big, rich and perfect temple built in India. I (Rinpoche) have never had any attachment thoughts such as power, fame or money.

請各位務必不要有世俗及政治的想法,僅以虔誠、恭敬、慈悲之心來運作這樣的事業,由於該地本身是非常殊勝的聖地,所以一定會順利圓滿,最後謝謝大家!
So, please do not have worldly and political thoughts. Only use devotion, sincerity, compassion to operation this organization. Because this place itself is a very sacred place, so it will perfectly accomplished. Finally, I would like to thank you all.
